Human Resources Professionals Association
Designed for the People Behind People
The Human Resources Professionals Association (HRPA) approached me to develop the visual identity and creative direction for two of their key event initiatives: their annual flagship Summit and Humans of HRPA, an ongoing event series spotlighting professionals and thought leaders across the HR community.
Working closely with the HRPA team, I created branding systems that could scale across digital, print, event signage, presentation materials, and promotional campaigns. The goal was to establish distinctive, recognizable event identities while maintaining alignment with the broader HRPA brand.
hrpa 2026 summitWhen evaluating previous Summit branding, I saw an opportunity to move beyond a visual identity that was heavily influenced by design trends of the moment and create a system with greater longevity. The challenge was to develop a brand that felt more confident, more human, and better aligned with HRPA's role as a leader in the profession.
My approach centered on a simple idea: people are the true advantage. Rather than relying on heavily treated imagery, I built the identity around authentic, people-driven photography supported by a flexible visual system inspired by the Summit's five pillars—Talent, Trust, Wellness, Equity, and Innovation. The result was a scalable brand framework that balanced clarity, energy, and inclusivity while providing HRPA with a distinctive platform that could evolve beyond a single event cycle.
Human Advantage
Humans of hrpaFor Humans of HRPA, the goal was to create a visual identity that felt distinctly human, approachable, and community-driven. I developed the brand system from the ground up, including the logo, color palette, visual language, and scalable templates that could support the program across digital, social, event, and promotional applications. The identity was designed to feel warm and optimistic while maintaining the professionalism expected of HRPA's audience.
The creative concept was inspired by the idea that every professional brings a unique story to the broader HR community. To express this, I paired authentic, people-focused photography with a custom illustration system built from hand-drawn patterns and graphic elements. Together, these components created a flexible visual language that celebrated individuality, connection, and shared experiences—reinforcing the human stories at the center of the initiative.
